01. The Challenge
The Fundação Mendes Gonçalves was launched in April 2025. Born from the vision of the founder, the Foundation carries the mission “Nurturing Futures, Regenerating Legacies.”
Its programs — Education, Regeneration, and Nurturing — focus on proximity philanthropy: building projects in Golegã, for the region, Portugal, and the world.
Our challenge was to create a website that reflects this unique spirit: accessible, inspiring, and bold enough to stand out among foundations in Portugal.
02. Design decisions
The brand identity gave us a strong base:

Color system: each program has its own dedicated color, making navigation intuitive and visually engaging.

Typography: Mont typeface ensures clarity, modernity, and consistency with Casa Mendes Gonçalves’ brand universe.
This visual system allowed us to design a site that feels warm, human, and forward-looking.
03. Accessibility
During the design process, we noticed that some brand colors had insufficient contrast for digital accessibility standards.
We proposed adjustments to the color palette, increasing contrast while keeping the brand’s identity consistent.
04. Impact
The website balances storytelling and functionality:

A narrative that introduces the founder, the company connection, and the foundation’s mission.

Interactive visuals to present the three programs, each with its own identity color.

A structure that breaks away from traditional “foundation websites,” opting for a lighter, more dynamic flow.

Transparent communication with clear sections for projects, results, and resources.
